In addition to the Ljubljana marshes, Penovje is one of the largest agglomerations of the alpine bells (Cortusa matthioli) or snake’s head (Fritillaria meleagris) and is an important habitat for numerous other plant and animal species. The Copek Mill is an excursion point on the outskirts of Polanski Log. The Liberation Front Committee was established here. It is a mill that was never discovered by the enemy and is the only preserved mill on the Črnec Creek. The homestead of the writer Miško Kranjec offers insight into his legacy of writings. Cycling through Polanski Log and an endless plantation of black alder (Alnus glutinosa) will amaze you.
